Why private
The whole hour is yours.
In a reformer class, the instructor teaches the room. In a private session every exercise is set up for your body — springs, positions and pace adjusted as you go, and a programme that progresses as you do. It's the clearest way to learn Pilates properly, and to work around the particular needs of your body.
The repertoire
Every apparatus, every level.
Alessia is trained across the full Pilates repertoire and teaches all levels, from a first session to advanced work. Each session draws on whichever apparatus suits your body and goals that week.
- Reformer, including jumpboard
- Cadillac (trapeze table) and tower
- Wunda, Exo and Combo chairs
- Barrels
- Mat Pilates

- Pregnant women and new mothers — sessions adapt to every stage
In a session
What a session looks like.
Your first session starts with a conversation about your history and goals, and a look at how you move. From there, each 60-minute session is chosen for what you need that week: mobility through the spine and hips, deep core and breathing, and strength through the legs, glutes and upper back.
How it works
Three steps to your first session.

Questions
Good to know.
A private session is one-to-one for the full 60 minutes, so the exercises, springs and pace are set for your body rather than for a whole class. Group classes cost less per session; private sessions are where most people learn the method properly, work around injuries or progress faster.
No. Many clients start as complete beginners — the first sessions teach the fundamentals of breathing, alignment and core control before the work progresses.
Yes. Alessia teaches every level, including advanced work on the reformer and jumpboard, the Cadillac (trapeze table), the chairs and the barrels.
Many people with back stiffness find Pilates helps, because it builds strength and control around the spine. It isn't a treatment, though: if you have pain or a recent injury, see your GP or a physiotherapist first, and sessions can be built around their advice.
Once or twice a week suits most people. Weekly sessions build steadily; twice a week helps when you're starting out or working towards something specific. Blocks of ten or twenty sessions keep the work consistent.
Yes, if you're a woman — home visits are available in Kensington, Chelsea and nearby. Reformer and trapeze work happens at the studio; home sessions are adapted to the space and equipment you have.
At Barone Pilates: a 60-minute one-to-one session is £120. Blocks bring the rate down: ten sessions for £1,150 (£115 each) or twenty for £2,200 (£110 each). Two or three people can share a session for £10 extra per person.
